Favorite Eye Makeup Brushes

Eyeshadow is probably my favorite step in applying makeup. Having good eyeshadows is important to get a nice look but even more important are the brushes you use. If you have the right brushes you can almost make every eyeshadow look amazing.
Eyeshadow brushes – or makeup brushes in general – don’t have to be expensive. There are also a lot of affordable brands that make amazing brushes.

Which eye makeup brushes do I recommend? Read on to find out.

MY EVERYDAY EYE MAKEUP BUSHES:

Top Favorite Eye Makeup Brushes

Over the years many brushes have accumulated in my makeup collection. But I definitely have some brushes that I don’t want to miss anymore.

So these ones are my top favorite brushes for my eye makeup and my brows:

  • MORPHE BRUSHES E30 (Love it to set my eyeshadow primer and to blend out my transition shade)
  • ZOEVA 228 (My favorite brush to apply my transition shade)
  • ZOEVA 227 (Amazing for the crease (perfect cruelty free dupe to the MAC 217))
  • SIGMA E25 (More precise than the ZOEVA 227. Perfect for the crease and outer corner blending)
  • MORPHE BRUSHES E17 (Also love it if I need more precision in my crease or for the outer corner)
  • LUXIE 237 (Amazing for blending out eyeshadow on the lower lashline)
  • ZOEVA 234 (Love it to apply my main eyeshadow on my eyelid)
  • ZOEVA 237 (Perfect brush if you need more precision on the lid or for inner corner and browbone highlight)
  • DOSE OF COLORS Pencil Brush (Best pencil brush I’ve tried. Amazing for cut creases or the lower lashline)
  • BH COSMETICS Pink-A-Dot 11pc Brush Set (Lip Brush) (Love it for precise eyeshadow application or to clean up my eyeshadow or brows with some concealer)
  • ZOEVA 317 (Love it for eyeliner, drawing cut creases and filling in my brows)
  • ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS #12 (My favorite brow brush)
  • ZOEVA 312 (Perfect if you need more precision for eyeliner or cut creases)

OTHER FAVORITE BRUSHES:

Big fluffy blending brushes:

ZOEVA 228, MORPHE BRUSHES M441, MORPHE BRUSHES E27, SIGMA E40, MORPHE BRUSHES E30

ZOEVA 228, MORPHE BRUSHES M441, MORPHE BRUSHES E27, SIGMA E40, MORPHE BRUSHES E30

ZOEVA 228: This is my favorite brush to apply my transition shade with. The brush is very fluffy and big so it is nice for applying a wash of color in the crease. The bristles are very soft. Also if I don’t want to do a full eyemakeup look and just want a little more depth in my crease I like to use this brush to quickly put some eyeshadow in the crease.

MORPHE BRUSHES M441: I also love this brush for my transition shade. It is also very fluffy and big – so it’s very similar to the Zoeva 228. I just prefer the Zoeva one a little more because the bristles of the brush are a little softer.

MORPHE BRUSHES E27: This brush is also a fluffy big blending brush but it is a little more precise than the Zoeva 228 and the Morphe Brushes M441 brush. I also like this brush for my crease (to apply a transition shade). But I do like it for blending out concealer or (cream or powder) highlight, too. The bristles of this brush are very soft.

SIGMA E40: Another brush I really like for my crease. It is also pretty fluffy so perfect for a transition shade. The bristles are very soft, too.

MORPHE BRUSHES E30: This is another amazing big blending brush. It is very soft and fluffy. I love it for setting the eyeshadow primer with some eyeshadow/powder and to blend out my transition shade.

More precise blending brushes:

MORPHE BRUSHES R34, SIGMA E25, 2x ZOEVA 227, BDELLIUM TOOLS 767

MORPHE BRUSHES R34, SIGMA E25, 2x ZOEVA 227, BDELLIUM TOOLS 767

MORPHE BRUSHES R34: I love this brush! The bristles are longer than on other blending brushes. The brush is dense but because of the long bristles it still blends out eyeshadow nicely. The bristles are very soft, too.

SIGMA E25: This is one of my favorite brushes if I want more precision in my crease but still want to blend the eyeshadow at the same time. The bristles are very soft.

2x ZOEVA 227: My favorite brush for applying and blending eyeshadow in the crease. I think this brush is a dupe to the MAC 217 – and it is also cruelty free. I have this brush multiple times because I love it so much!

BDELLIUM TOOLS 767: This is a more chubby blending brush. I really like it if I want to deepen my outer corner.

Smaller precise blending brushes:

LUXIE 237, SIGMA E45, MORPHE BRUSHES E17, BH COSMETICS Pink-A-Dot 11pc Brush Set (Tapered Shadow Blending Brush)

LUXIE 237, SIGMA E45, MORPHE BRUSHES E17, BH COSMETICS Pink-A-Dot 11pc Brush Set (Tapered Shadow Blending Brush)

LUXIE 237: I love this brush if I need a really precise brush to apply or to blend out my eyeshadow. I mainly use this brush to blend out eyeshadow on my lower lashline. This brush is super soft.

SIGMA E45: Another precise blending brush. I really like this one because of its pointed tip. Again I love it for precise blending and eyeshadow application in the crease and outer corner.

MORPHE BRUSHES E17: This is the brush I always use to apply black eyeshadow in my outer corner. It is dense enough to place the eyeshadow exactly where you want it but it is also a little bit fluffy to blend the eyeshadow at the same time, too. It is also a really good brush if you need more precision with blending out eyeshadows. The bristles are very soft, too.

BH COSMETICS Pink-A-Dot 11pc Brush Set (Tapered Shadow Blending Brush): I love this brush for applying and blending eyeshadow in the crease. It is a little bigger and more fluffy than the other brushes in the picture. A very soft and amazing brush.

Lid brushes:

ZOEVA 233, BH COSMETICS Pink-A-Dot 11pc Brush Set (Classic Shadow Brush), ZOEVA 234, BDELLIUM TOOLS 773

ZOEVA 233, BH COSMETICS Pink-A-Dot 11pc Brush Set (Classic Shadow Brush), ZOEVA 234, BDELLIUM TOOLS 773

ZOEVA 233: This brush is pretty dense. So I love it to place eyeshadow precisely on my lid. It works amazing with powder eyeshadows and also with cream products. You can also cut the crease with eyeshadow with this brush because of its density.

BH COSMETICS Pink-A-Dot 11pc Brush Set (Classic Shadow Brush): I love this brush for the exact same reason as the previous brush. It is amazing for cream and powder products.

ZOEVA 234: This brush is a little more fluffy than the previous two brushes. I love it to apply eyeshadow on my lid. Because this brush is more fluffy your eyeshadow will blend in with the other eyeshadows easily.

BDELLIUM TOOLS 773: This brush is not as fluffy as the Zoeva 234. I also really like it for applying eyeshadow on my lid. I think it is a great cruelty free alternative to the MAC 242.

Detail brushes:

ZOEVA 238, BH COSMETICS Pink-A-Dot 11pc Brush Set (Lip Brush), ZOEVA 237

ZOEVA 238, BH COSMETICS Pink-A-Dot 11pc Brush Set (Lip Brush), ZOEVA 237

ZOEVA 238: This is a really tiny precise brush. I love it if I really need to be super precise with my eyeshadow e.g. for getting between the lines of a double cut crease.

BH COSMETICS Pink-A-Dot 11pc Brush Set (Lip Brush): Another really precise brush. I love it for carving out the crease of a cut crease with some concealer or other precise eyeshadow work.

ZOEVA 237: This brush is a little bigger and more fluffy than the previous brushes. But it is still very precise. I love it to apply my inner corner highlight.

Pencil/ Detail brushes:

BH COSMETICS Pink-A-Dor 11pc Brush Set (Tapered Eyeliner Brush), MORPHE BRUSHES M149, DOSE OF COLORS Pencil Brush

BH COSMETICS Pink-A-Dor 11pc Brush Set (Tapered Eyeliner Brush), MORPHE BRUSHES M149, DOSE OF COLORS Pencil Brush

BH COSMETICS Pink-A-Dot 11pc Brush Set (Tapered Eyeliner Brush): This is a very precise pencil brush because it’s not that fluffy. Love it for detail work.

MORPHE BRUSHES M149: This brush is a little more fluffy than the BH Cosmetics brush. Love it for the lower lashline and also for nose contouring.

DOSE OF COLORS Pencil Brush: My favorite pencil brush. It is a little more dense than the Morphe M149 brush but it is still fluffy.  Amazing for the lower lashline or cut creases.

Eyeliner Brushes:

ZOEVA 312, MORPHE BRUSHES R45, MORPHE BRUSHES B11, ZOEVA 317

ZOEVA 312, MORPHE BRUSHES R45, MORPHE BRUSHES B11, ZOEVA 317

ZOEVA 312: My favorite brush to apply my gel eyeliner! I love it because it is very small and precise. It is also amazing for cut creases.

MORPHE BRUSHES R45: Another amazing brush for gel eyeliner. It is a little bit bigger than the Zoeva 312 brush but it is still very precise.

MORPHE BRUSHES B11: I adore this brush if I want to place eyeshadow on my upper lashline to get a smokey eyeliner look. It also works amazing for filling in the brows.

ZOEVA 317: Another amazing eyeliner brush. Even though it is bigger than the previous brushes it is very thin and precise. I also often use this brush to draw my cut crease. It is also great for the brows.

Brow Brushes:

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS #12, NYX COSMETICS Dual Brow Brush

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS #12, NYX COSMETICS Dual Brow Brush

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS #12: An amazing brush for the brows. It is very thin and precise. And the spoolie works great, too. Love it for brow powders and also pomades.

NYX COSMETICS Dual Brow Brush: This brush is a little bit bigger and less precise than the Anastasia Beverly Hills #12 brush. But I still love it for my brows. Amazing for brow powders and also pomades.
