A few weeks ago I did a smokey eyeliner look and I got quite some requests to do a pictorial on it – so here we are!
I do some sort of smokey eyeliner basically on a daily basis and it is pretty easy to do.
So if you want to know how I got this look keep on reading.
Products I used for this smokey eyeliner look:
- Eyeshadow base (e.g. concealer)
- Aether Beauty Joshua Tree Desert Matte Palette (Pixie Rock, Joshua Tree, Agave, New Moon)
- Essence Longlasting Eye Pencil in Black Fever
- Essence I Love Extreme Volume Mascara Waterproof
- Brushes: Sigma E06, E21, E36, E35
Step By Step Makeup Pictorial:

STEP 1:
First of all I prime my eyelids with concealer. Then I use an eyeliner pen to create a rough line along my upper lashline and slightly wing it out.
STEP 2:
After that I set and perfect that eyeliner with some black eyeshadow (“New Moon”) on a small angled eyeliner brush (Sigma E06).
STEP 3:
Then to smoke out that liner I use a dark green eyeshadow (“Agave”) on a smudger brush (Sigma E21).

STEP 4:
To make it even more smokey I use a small fluffy brush (Sigma E36) with an olive green eyeshadow (“Joshua Tree”) and blend out the eyeliner.
STEP 5:
To make it look even more blended I use a skin-toned eyeshadow (“Pixie Rock”) on a fluffy blending brush (Sigma E35) and set the rest of the eyelid.
STEP 6:
After that I remove any fall-out on my cheek and do my base makeup. Then I start working on my lower lashline. I apply the eyeliner pen on my waterline and also slightly into my lashline but keep the very inner part of the lower lashline empty.

STEP 7:
Then I set the eyeliner with black eyeshadow (“New Moon”). On the inner corner I leave a small gap and draw a line a little bit lower underneath and connect it to my lashline.
Also I extend the inner corner a little bit with the black eyeshadow.
For all of that I use an angled eyeliner brush (Sigma E06).
STEP 8:
After that I smoke out that line with the green eyeshadows (“Agave” + “Joshua Tree”) on a small fluffy brush (Sigma E36).
STEP 9:
Then I fill in and set my eyebrows. Lastly I curl my lashes and apply mascara.
Finished Look:

I hope you enjoyed this step-by-step makeup pictorial on how to get this olive smokey eyeliner makeup look!
