Aether Beauty Rose Quartz Crystal Gemstone Palette
I was recently watching one of Jkissas Videos on Youtube about “4 *NEW* Beauty Brands You NEED To Know About” and she also mentioned the brand Aether Beauty. I never heard of this brand before but then she said that the brand is clean, vegan, cruelty free and they use organic and fair trade ingredients and the packaging is all recyclable. Also 1% of the sales go to the water project (a charity providing access to clean water in Africa).
This now got me really excited about the brand so I really wanted to support them and see how I like it.
It took me some time to actually purchase the palette because I recently had so many issues with buying beauty products from outside the EU. We have really strict laws when importing beauty products to Germany (when the value of the parcel is over 21€ including shipping). But for some reason this palette did go through customs without any issues – thankfully.

FORMULA:
The eyeshadows are more on the powdery side. They have quite some kick up in the eyeshadow pan. The formula reminds me of Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadow palettes or Tarte eyeshadow palettes. To be honest that is not my favorite type of eyeshadow formula but it’s not bad or anything. That is just personal preference.
The mattes, especially the dark shades, are not that intense. The pigmentation is okay. The darkest shade is not as dark as it looks in the pan. You can built them up a little bit but they don’t layer that well.
Also because the formula is more powdery I think the best way to apply them is on top of a eyeshadow base (e.g. concealer) that is NOT set. And also if e.g. you want the outer corner to be really dark I woul recommend applying the darkest shade first and then blend it out with the lighter shades. Normally I always go the other way round and start with the lightest shades and work my way down to the darkest shades. With these I would start with the darkest shade. That’s not really an issue for me – just something I would recommend when using this palette.
Now to the shimmers: I think there are two types of shimmery shades in the palette: normal shimmers (in triangle-shaped pans) and then the four shades in the center (in square-shaped pans) are a little different. The mormal shimmers in the triangle shaped pans are not metallic or anything – just normal more natural shimmery eyehadows. The four shades in the square shaped pans in the center feel like they are pressed harder in the pan. So I think you have to dig your brush in the pan a little to get product on your brush. Also the four shades in the center look more duochrome and metallic. A really nice and different formula. I think the best way to apply the four center shades is either wet or on top of a glitter glue (e.g. NYX glitter primer) to make them more intense.
I use the shimmery shade “Sardust” as my cheek highlight a lot. It’s not super intense, it will give your cheeks a really nice and natural glow.
PROS:
- clean, vegan, cruelty free and they use organic and fair trade ingredients
- the packaging is all recyclable
- overall good color pay-off
- overall blend well
CONS:
- eyeshadows don’t layer that well
- darkest eyeshadow is not that dark
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Overall a nice eyeshadow palette.
Like I said the more powdery formula is not my favorite fomula when it comes to eyeshadows. The mattes and shimmers really remind me of Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadow palettes or Tarte eyeshadow palettes. They just are a little bit less pigmented and the formula of the four center shades is different. So if you like this formular this palette is great.
My personal highlight of the palette are the four center shades because they are more unique.
I think this palette is suited more for people that like a more natural makeup. I personally like a more intense and dark eyemakeup and I feel like I can’t really get this with this palette on its own. In my opinion the best thing about this palette is that it’s recyclable and they use organic and fair trade ingredients. Hopefully more and more brands will look into that.
